The glue binding on this book is not holding. The pages are falling out in groups. It is very disappointing. A friend recommended this book, noticed his book's pages were falling out too. Thought it was because the book might be older, well used and loved. As our book has been used less than two weeks, I believe the binding was the problem with our friend's book, too.The information is great, love the detail and drawings. Just need to find a very large plastic bag to keep the pages together.The book was not inexpensive, expected it to be more resilient and durable as it use is repetitive.
Information in this book is great, I love it. One big problem, the thing falls apart after only used a few times. I see other posts saying the same thing and so have several of my friends. Its too bad the binding is so cheap when the book is so great. I contacted the publishing company, but got no response. Mine now resides in a 3-ring binder, sad.
This book is an excellent guide to boating in the San Juan's. This can be a gift for those who like seeing interesting places to sail or go boating. Highly recommended.
In our recent trip cruising the San Juans we had several popular and authoritative cruising guides with us, but the Dreamspeaker guide was the one we ended up using the most. The personal descriptions of the anchorages, accompanied with concise but informative illustrations were the most helpful when going into new spots. It is an attractive book, with big color pictures and high carbon glossy pages, but also much more practical than we thought it was going to be. We'll definitely use their other guides for the Gulfs and Desolation Sound when we go there.
