Art Chansky is a veteran journalist who's been covering UNC and ACC basketball for 40 years. He is the author of nine books on Carolina basketball, including Blue Blood and Light Blue Reign. He was also a sports marketing executive who developed an all-sports competition between Duke and Carolina called the Carlyle Cup. He lives in Chapel Hill with his family.

Sorry folks but I was extremely disappointed by this book. For one thing, it is boring. It seems like he pasted together a bunch of newspaper articles. For another thing, there is no real insight and not much in the way of quotes. Honestly seems like a lazy effort. I recommend Will Blythe's book, which is infinitely more insightful and entertaining.
If you are a fan of the Tobacco Road rivalry, this should be a required read. Taking off where Chansky left off in his last book (Blue Blood), the opening chapter chronicles Tyler Hansbrough's dominance at Cameron Indoor Stadium and the novel takes the reader up to the end of the 2017-2018 season. It's a roller coaster ride along the way, comparing the success of both schools mixed with a four-year stretch where neither university made the Final Four.Chansky also juxtaposes the way the two schools have recruited players and found different ways to win in a manner that is fascinating to read. I encourage everyone to read this book — it's a fun story throughout and has many quotes from key members of the rivalry.
Blue Blood II had me from hello and the unique back-and-forth between Coach K and Roy Williams. It is another well-researched, informative and thought-provoking book by Art Chansky, who seems to do it every time. I will load up on these for Christmas presents, because who can go wrong with a book on the Duke-Carolina rivalry?
