This book was a perfect confirmation and clarification of all of the life lessons I am currently experiencing. I have never highlighted so many passages in a book before! Although not every single sentence that Osho says should be taken at face value, The basic principles that he brings through in each chapter ring true at a very deep level. This is a book to re-read every year or two in order to appreciate new lessons that may not have resonated with you during the previous read.

The read was very interesting and thought provoking. I like the fact that the concepts brought forward are yours to analyze, ponder and accept or dismiss.

Excellent book on what Tantra really is. Most people want to know about sex and Tantra, this book is not about that. Tantra encompasses your whole life and that includes honoring people in life, not just your sex partner. If you want to begin a journey to knowing and controlling your body and mind, this book is for you.

Love all Osho. His insight is unique and humorous, even if his personal story is a little sketchy.

This is a great book for non-techies.There are step by step instructions including pictures. I sit my Fire tablet next to my phone and go through each step. I feel like I am learning to use my iphone like I never would without this book. It was well worth the money. In these days when there are no Operating manuals a book like this is great for senior citizens. I expect to be a whiz at the iphone in no time. Thanks for a great operator's manual for a highly technical device.

Wow what an amazing book for newbies and old hands too. Lots and lots and lots of information. I am still working my way through this thick, well-laid out, full of graphics and step-by-step instructive book on how to set up, how to become acquainted with, and how to use the features and apps of my brand new Apple iPhone 7 Plus w/ 256 GB. It is my first ever Apple phone so I really had to start from below basement level in learning how to use it. At first I thought I would only have to watch how-to videos on Youtube, but that only frustrated me, because I would have to pause the video, then try something on my iPhone, then look up again at the video, which could not go s-l-o-w-l-y enough for me while I fumbled with my iPhone. Now I've been using this textbook to support and complement what I am learning at the free group workshops offered by the Apple store in my city. After I've had a workshop, I refer to this book for more detail, and practice what we covered in the workshop. There is so much this little iPhone hand held computer can do that cannot be covered in an all too brief, intensive hour-long workshop. I've taken 3 different "Apple iPhone Basics" workshops and each workshop taught a different feature or app. Each iPhone feature and app takes so much time to really practice and use. Plus, each time I discover a new feature or app, this book teaches you in a logical, easy to understand way what it is for and how to apply it. I purchased the iPhone 7 Plus because of the really neat camera and this book is a great crutch for me in learning how to become better at using just he camera. I am a oldie (over 65 yo) and I think I'm a visual and auditory learner so I really appreciate the amount of information as well as the way the information is presented by author Brad Miser who has put together this tome for newbies-to-high-tech. I showed my copy of this book to one of my classmates in one of the Apple workshops I recently attended; he was eager to order his own copy. Thank you, Brad Miser, for helping me to get up to speed on my iPhone. Now I am lusting after the Apple wrist watch. But first, I have to become more adept with my iPhone. Anyone, even long time iPhone users, will greatly appreciate this learn-as-you-turn-each-page book.

Never have I been so disappointed in a book that I bought to both asist a senior friend and myself in learning something new! This author has NO IDEA what seniors need in an instruction book! First of all if one buys a book especially for seniors, the obvious reason is that they are NOT going to be tech savvy. Otherwise, they'd just buy a regular manual or instruction book. They want the BASICS, simple step by step instruction on how to make and receive phone calls, how to retrieve voicemail, how to send and receive texts from the kids and grandkids, not all the complicated "cool" new technical things you can do with this phone BEFORE you even address the basics! it's fine to include the more complicated operations in a second section of the book, but you should be building their confidence first -- not overwheming them with excess verbiage about tricky operations. I am terribly disappointed!

This book covers iPhone 7/7 Plus and iOS 10, so it won't be irrelavent soon. As of May 2017, iOS 10.3.1 has been out for about a month. Even if you haven't updated to the latest/greatest version (there are good and bad points to constantly updating, and you have to make up your own mind about doing it), this book is a must have, must read for the low price, plus free Amazon Prime shipping. We like this for the large print and clear illustrations, and also have the iPad for Seniors version (different author). The book is somewhat heavy, but there's nothing like having a good reference volume, that doesn't have to always be connected to wi-fi, in order to learn how to use. We'll likely gift this book to a friend or family member after the next new version is released at the end of the year. Hopefully, all iPhone/iPad users are reading up on why you should have a good VPN installed on your iPhone/iPad, at least for all of your wi-fi use; even though your device is encrypted, your over the air or wi-fi stream (phone or ipad) isn't; it's important to find out, now that all ISPs mine and can sell everything you touch/click and think about. If you have an iPhone 6 to 7 (plus) iPhone, this book will cover many areas you never thought of, no matter how long you've had an iPhone. Whether you use iCloud, or not, it's difficult to use iCloud as Apple intends if you -don't- have an unlimited data plan or wi-fi, but the book does touch on much of what iCloud is/isn't. If you have enough bandwidth, then you can do anything on iPhone wi-fi, that you can with an iPad. If you like books, then you'll like owning this book. As a last mention, there are Apple (and many non-Apple) user forums online, full of solid information that can help you learn almost anything you want to know. This is a great companion for the iPad for Seniors. We hope our fellow Amazonians find our review and this book useful.

Have the book for the iPad as well. Both are excellent. I run classes for Seniors on the iPhone and iPad and this reference manual was very helpful for me to prepare and to create some easy hand outs for those in the class. The pictures are especially helpful for a beginner.

After reading Your First 100 cover to cover in a matter of days I was super excited to read this. However, it was a bit underwhelming. There are good points in the book, but the book seemed like it was rushed and wasn't well thought out. It doesn't have a sense of flow and sequence as YF100 did and each chapter seemed like it also wasn't well thought out in detail for a book. As soon as I started reading a chapter and started to get into it, it was over.I think the info could have been written in a blog post or email course series and was pointless for a book on Amazon

Meera focuses on how to build and borrow an authority architecture even if you don't have the credentials you think you need to be an expert. I DO have the credentials, but that doesn't mean I knew how to develop the architecture. This book explains it clearly, succinctly, and with just enough detail to make it immediately useful. Full disclosure - I received a complimentary copy of the book for review AND I found it useful enough that I printed out the pdf so I could take notes and underline. And I paid for the Kindle version so I can always have it handy.

If you feel overwhelmed by all the things you've read and all the content you've consumed on how to position your brand/your barely-off-the-ground business, all the must-do-this-must-do-that of the online world...take a deep breath, click the Buy Now button and just devour this gem by Meera. This book deserves five stars, but I just can't give it due to some very sloppy mistakes in the diagrams. His schematic diagram on pg 135 is correct, but his diagrams for the very next two projects are completely screwed up. His diagram on page 147 isn't even remotely close to the 16F876A package - it's a 24 pin device not the 28 of the 16F876A. So you have to be careful and use a printout to guide your circuits. That said, this book takes you a little further down your development path. His programs have worked for me and I have gained a few new insights and programming shortcuts. Would I buy it again(?) yes, yes, yes. Basic (or in this case BASIC) mastery of the 16F876A seems to be an important step in anyone's development who programs with PBC or PBP. I highly recommend this book, but be warned about the schematic fopas!

Great book, nicely organized and they final put the cd in the middle of the book. I don't know how many cd were broken over the years with them on the rear page. A truly 5 star book.

When I started with PIC, Arduino was not available. I was attracted to using basic for the programming and wanted the improved efficiency over other the other hobbyist platform available at that time. The book is a great learning guide and I would recommend it as a PIC starting point.

Hard to imagine being very productive with this techonology without this guide. Good textbook type technical explanations and good meaningful examples.

I went through the projects in the book and also use it as reference for my own projects. A great way to learn about the PIC chip.

I have to say that if you are starting out with the pics then this is an excellent book, but the diagrams in it are at a few places slightly off if not for that it is perfect.

There aren't too many guide books on El Salvador...we purchased the Lonely Planet guide that combines El Salvador and Nicaragua. It just doesn't have the information we were looking for. If you want to get off the beaten path, and stay in places other than generic hostels and hotels that the Lonely Planet book describes, then the Explorer's Guide to El Salvador is the best purchase you will make before your trip. We used it the entire time we were in El Salvador, and it had so much valuable information in it. Better descriptions of landmarks, monuments, parks, restaurants, etc. Just better, period. There's no hype in the descriptions (in fact, at times there is a humorous snarkiness to the descriptions).Buy the book, and be sure to bring it with you. You'll be sure to have a wonderful time in the country. One thing I would suggest is to double check the operating times of museums, restaurants, etc. Some may change.Another note - don't buy into the hype about the danger in visiting this beautiful country. The book states the same, and points out the obvious...just be a wary and aware traveler. Salvadorans are exceptionally kind and helpful.

There is very few guidebooks about El Salvador. This is probably the best of them. However I found this guidebook disorganized and difficult to plan traveling around El Salvador. The guidebook describes El Salvador from from San Salvador and out towards the borders of El Salvador, nothing wrong with that but I was coming from Honduras and had difficulties to plan traveling from the border and into San Salvador. I needed far more information about border towns and buses going from the border. I did not have enough information to dare to stop in the countryside. I had no idea which way the bus was going into San Salvador so I could jump off at a nice spot. I did see from the bus window fantastic landscape and a very nice hotel but I was unprepared to jump off from the bus. One need a lot of help to plan traveling in El Salvador since there is only chicken buses available. Maybe far easier with a rental car but then you need to go into San Salvador.

My husband is from El Salvador so I have a live in guide at home. However I wanted to prepare for my first visit and learn about the different regions and some basic customs that might be normal to my hubby but new to me. I liked the little side notes by the author regarding festivals, especially food festivals. This guide will give you a good idea of what you can expect in El Salvador if you stay on the tourist path. It doesn't cover off road or exploration that much, guess you'll need a different guide for that.

I'm planning a trip to El Salvador with a native Salvadorean. I think this books is super informative and well written. He has been reading through the book and was impressed by the depth to detail and explanation, and inclusion of interesting locales. Its a good size and not too heavy to actually bring with you on your travels.

A great book BUT....This book is filled with great information. It is extremely thorough and easy to read. It's too bad all the photos are not in color. My nly critique is that the book is poorly organized. Author really dropped the ball in that respect. I had to buy colored Post It Notes to easily find information

We own a place in el Salvador so we are always looking for something to broaden our base of knowledge. My husband loves this book! He says he has learned all kinds of interesting places and facts that he can't wait to explore on his own. Totally worth the purchase.

The guide was good for finding food and lodging and highlighting sights of interest. As with all guides, things change. It is important to look for the most current guides.

I bought this book hoping, as the author stated in her introduction, to make the transition from an experienced and competent Access user to an Access developer who can make a living developing applications for clients. I had hoped that the book would be chocked full of tips, tricks and wisdom from an Access expert. But I was disappointed. The author stated that she wrote this book for experienced Access users, who knew how to create tables, queries, forms and other Access objects, and had some familiarity writing VBA code. It has always been my opinion that the creation of a good Access database application requires a solid knowledge of VBA, the available control events and how to effectively program those control events. Unfortunately the chapter on VBA was rather weak and the chapter on controls had little discussion of the numerous control events.On the other hand, the author presented 13 full pages of VBA code to demonstrate using the ItemsSelected collection of a MultiSelect listbox, a concept that could have been demonstrated in about 10 lines of code. I found it interesting that the author never mentioned the Control Wizard, which can automatically generate VBA code for many control events. Also the author never mentioned that a callback function could be used as the record source for a combobox (or listbox).In the first half of the book the author uses the Toy Workshop database example to illustrate how to create/modify tables, relationships, forms, controls and reports. The reader very quickly must become familiar with the structure of this database. A complete summary of the tables (listing the fields), forms (listing the controls), queries, and reports in an appendix would have been very helpful. The reader is almost forced to download the sample databases from the Wrox website to get anything out of the book.The author had many pages presenting the three add-ins that she developed: Design Schemes, LNC Rename and the Menu Manager add-in. On the surface these add-ins appear to be good tools for an Access developer, but the LNC Rename add-in (used to rename objects using the Leszynski naming convention) was not designed to work for controls with existing VBA code. And I wasn't crazy about the design of the main form created by the Menu Manager. Not to mention the fact that this add-in required you to rename your main form using a non-standard "fpri" tag. I would have liked for the author to give me the expert guidance that I need to create my own add-ins rather than to simply use the "canned" add-ins developed by the author.I didn't read the chapters on Automation dealing with Word, Outlook or applications outside of Office. The chapter "Working With Word" probably is one of the best chapters since this subject appears to one of the author's areas of expertise. I did read the chapter on "Working with Excel". It was OK. It just scratched the surface of the subject of automation between Access and Excel, primarily dealing with how to programmatically export data from Access to Excel and import data from Excel into Access.Before you decide to purchase this book, I'd recommend taking a look at Alison Balter's book "Mastering Microsoft Access 2000 Development " and Scott Barker's book "Microsoft Access 2000 Power Programming". And if you decide to purchase this book, plan on downloading the sample databases (Note: the three ZIP files are a whopping 114MB) and plan on spending a lot of time studying the sample tables, forms, queries, reports, and VBA code.

Helen has been around since Access was introduced. She knows how to solve problems. This book is better than her previous book (Microsoft Press) for Access 2002. Great examples, plenty of code. Helen gives the reader insight into every day solutions. I especially like her Menu Manager Add-in. It is a good help for using her solutions. And, she even has code for sending a fax from Access with WinFax. I wrote my own procedure (it took a great deal of time) and it works fine, but Helen's code is very efficient (over 20 pages devoted to this in her book). It checks for all the folders and sends the fax. Much more information included - from a sample interview with a client, to using Access with Word, Outlook, and Excel.My only complaint concerns the sample files. Wrox used to include a CD, but now they seem to be leaining toward web downloads. Not a bad idea but, in this case, the files are over 100 MB. If you don't have broadband, you may be working in Access 2004 before you're finished downloading these samples.

This book has good coverage for Access 2003, but is sadly out of date. Still it does have a personality that gives the reader some real one-on-one insight and information. I hope that Helen updates her work.

Helen is a dean of Access VBA development. The book is full of useful, easily adaptable examples of how to customize Access apps with VBA.
